Engineers Win Fifth in a Row, Claim First Place in Liberty League

GENEVA, N.Y. – The Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) men's basketball team closed with poise and perimeter shot-making to edge Hobart 66-62.
g four threes to go with five rebounds and four assists, while Billy Feeks added 14 points and went a perfect 6-for-6 at the free throw line.

PJ Scalisi and Kellen Driscoll chipped in nine apiece, with Scalisi adding three triples and three steals. Yechiel Stewart posted nine points and five boards.

RPI opened 7–0 and led 27–25 at halftime, then answered Hobart's brief second-half surge with timely threes and late free throws.

Deppe's equalizing triple at 17:24 steadied the Engineers, and after the Statesmen tied it 44–44 inside eight minutes, Deppe splashed another three at 5:13 and Feeks buried back-to-back long balls to make it 53–47 with less than four minutes to play.

Deppe scored twice at the rim in the final three minutes to keep a two-possession cushion, and Driscoll and Feeks combined to go 8-for-8 at the line in the last 47 seconds to seal the four-point win.

The Engineers continue their long roadtrip with a visit to Skidmore on Friday. Tip off is scheduled for 7:30 pm in Saratoga Springs.
