Engineers Challenged by #13 Yale

TROY, N.Y. – The Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) women's hockey team host #13 Yale tonight in Houston Field House, with the visitors taking 8–2 ECAC decision.

RPI received goals from Chloe Obser and Kami O'Brien on the evening, with both score marking the first career collegiate goals for the respective duo.

After Yale led 3-0 after the opening period, RPI responded immediately to start the second. Just 75 seconds into the frame, Obser finished an even-strength chance off assists from Charlotte Wensley and Brianna Livingstone.

In the third, RPI continued to battle and was rewarded late when O'Brien notched her tally at 17:17. The unassisted score came after O'Brien forced a turnover in the offensive zone and fired a quick shot past the Yale goaltender.

Obser paced all RPI skaters with a team-high four shots on goal, while Kendal Davidson added three shots and two blocked attempts from the blue line.

RPI will have a chance to regroup with tomorrow's Blackout! Matchup agains Brown, with puck drop set for 3:00 pm as part of RPI Athletics' National Girls & Women's Sports celebration.
