Women's Swim & Dive Fall to Hamilton in Final Dual Meet

TROY, N.Y. – The Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) women's swimming & diving team fell to visiting Hamilton College, 189–111, in dual meet action today at Robison Pool.

Vera Korff continued her strong junior campaign with a pair of sprint victories. She opened her day with a win in the 50 freestyle (24.56 seconds), then returned to top the field in the 100 freestyle (53.74). She also finished second in the 100 butterfly (59.75) and anchored RPI's second-place 200 freestyle relay squad alongside Sierra Pargett, Elizabeth Rose, and Theresa Funderburk.

RPI's diving unit delivered another dominant showing, led by Ella Simpson, who swept both boards. The senior posted 245.90 points on the 1-meter and 244.80 on the 3-meter to earn a pair of first-place finishes.

Sierra Pargett claimed victory in the 200 freestyle with a time of 1:57.74, and was narrowly edged later in the meet for second in the 100 free (54.36). She also helped RPI to a second-place finish in the 200 medley relay, teaming up with Audrey Lewis, Elizabeth Rose, and Korff.
Elizabeth Rose earned an individual victory in the 100 butterfly (59.56), just ahead of Korff's runner-up time, while Meera Kondal came within 0.12 seconds of the win in the 100 backstroke, clocking a 59.42.

RPI earned additional podium finishes from Audrey Lewis, who was third in both the 100 and 200 breaststroke, and part of the medley relay.

The Engineer divers will next return to Robison Pool for the RPI Dive Invitational next Saturday, while the RPI swimmers will begin prepping for the Liberty League Championships that are set to begin on February 18 at host Ithaca.
