RPI Wins at Skidmore to Stay Perfect in Liberty League

SARATOGA SPRINGS, NY — The RPI field hockey team received two goals from Lindsay Dunbar and seven saves from Olivia Brovak as the Engineers earned a 4-1 Liberty League victory over Skidmore this afternoon at Wagner Park. The win extended RPI's **program-record winning streak to 11 consecutive games** and improved the Engineers to 12-2 overall and 5-0 in Liberty League play.

RPI generated pressure throughout the opening quarter, earning six penalty corners and producing seven shots. Elise Giroux broke through for the game's first goal after winning a loose ball in front of the cage and finishing to give the Engineers a 1-0 advantage. Skidmore responded shortly thereafter when Ella Costa scored to even the contest at 1-1.

The Engineers regained the lead in the second quarter behind Dunbar. Emily Frey sent a long ball into the attacking area, where Dunbar redirected the feed into the cage to put RPI ahead 2-1. The Engineers finished the period with an 8-2 advantage in shots, while Brovak made a pair of saves to maintain the one-goal lead entering halftime.

Dunbar struck again early in the third quarter, tipping in an attempt from Kennedy Campbell to extend the RPI advantage to 3-1. The Engineers continued to apply pressure later in the period, generating five penalty corners and seven shots while holding Skidmore without an attempt.

RPI added another insurance goal in the fourth following a penalty corner. Emily Dubord helped create the opportunity for Sophia Brown, who finished for her 14th goal of the season and a 4-1 lead. Brovak turned aside two Skidmore attempts later in the quarter as the Engineers closed out their 11th straight victory.

Dunbar led the RPI attack with two goals on five shots, including four attempts on target. Brown and Giroux added one goal apiece, while Frey, Campbell and Dubord each registered an assist. Brown placed all three of her shots on goal, while Ria Patel and Frey each finished with four total attempts.

The Engineers finished with a 26-12 advantage in total shots, including a 17-8 edge in shots on goal, while also holding a 15-6 advantage in penalty corners. Brovak made seven saves, allowing only the first-quarter tally as RPI remained unbeaten in Liberty League play.
