TROY, N.Y. – The Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) women's lacrosse team opened the 2026 season with an 18-4 victory over Oneonta this afternoon at ECAV Stadium.
RPI put together a dominant and balanced offensive performance in the season opener, led by seven points from
Kacey Pritts on two goals and five assists.
Camille Stackhouse and
Quinn Wollard each scored five goals, while
Beckett Houston added four goals of her own in a strong all-around effort.
Abigail Couzens chipped in three points (one goal, two assists), and
Sophia Bunyasaranand also found the back of the net. In goal,
Lillian Brady played all 60 minutes and made seven saves to earn the win.
The Engineers took control immediately and never looked back, scoring five times in the opening quarter to build a 5-0 lead. Houston opened the scoring at 14:11 off a feed from Pritts, and Pritts followed with an unassisted goal less than two minutes later. Wollard then struck off another Pritts assist, before Houston added a man-down goal on a Couzens helper at 3:15. Stackhouse capped the first-quarter burst with an unassisted tally at 2:06.
RPI kept the pressure on in the second quarter, stretching the lead to 10-1 by halftime. Wollard opened the period with a man-up goal off a
Maddie Phelan assist, Couzens scored off a Pritts setup, and Wollard added another to make it 8-0. Stackhouse converted a free-position chance for the ninth goal, and after ONEWL got on the board, Pritts answered with an unassisted goal to send the Engineers into the break up nine.
Oneonta scored the first two goals of the third quarter to trim the margin to 10-3, but RPI quickly responded. Houston stopped the push with a goal at 11:12 off another Pritts assist, then scored again unassisted at 9:08 as the Engineers carried a 12-3 advantage into the fourth.
After the visitors converted a man-up chance early in the fourth, RPI closed the game with six unanswered goals. Stackhouse started the run at 12:34, Bunyasaranand followed at 9:19, and Wollard scored a pair of man-up goals in the period. Stackhouse added one more off a Couzens assist and then finished the scoring on a free-position goal with 15 seconds left to complete her five-goal day.
RPI held advantages in shots (38-12), shots on goal (30-11), and clears (12-of-14), while forcing 18 Oneonta turnovers.
The Engineers continue their three-game season-opening homestand with a 1:00 pm matchup on Saturday versus Keene State.
