TROY, N.Y. — The Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) softball program earned multiple postseason recognitions as the Liberty League announced its annual awards today, highlighted by
Callista Adorno and
Sydney Speanburg being named First Team All-Liberty League,
Addison Shaffer earning Second Team honors, and four Engineers receiving Honorable Mention recognition.
Adorno delivered a well-rounded offensive season en route to First Team acclaim, finishing tied for seventh in the Liberty League with 35 runs, ninth with 45 hits, and tied for 10th with four home runs. She also ranked tied for 10th in the conference with 29 RBI, consistently producing in key spots while setting a steady tone at the top and middle of the lineup.
Speanburg's First Team selection was driven by her elite on-base presence and ability to pressure pitchers every trip to the plate. The outfielder led the Liberty League with 32 walks and finished second in the conference with a .510 on-base percentage, pairing patience with timely production while ranking tied for fourth in the league with 39 runs scored.
Shaffer earned Second Team honors as a utility player after providing impact across multiple roles, ranking tied for fourth in the Liberty League with 12 doubles and tied for 10th with 29 RBI. Her extra-base consistency and run production helped stabilize the Engineers' offense throughout the season.
