RPI Softball Announces Departure of Head Coach Amber Maisonet

TROY, N.Y. – After serving as Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute's interim head softball coach in 2011 before officially taking over the program for the 2012 season, Amber Maisonet has resigned to accept the head coaching position at Eastern Connecticut State University.

Maisonet leaves RPI as the winningest coach in program history, compiling a 398-186-1 overall record while establishing the Engineers as one of the premier programs in the Liberty League. During her tenure, she guided RPI to six Liberty League regular-season championships, two Liberty League Tournament titles, and four NCAA Tournament appearances, including the program's first NCAA at-large bid in 2023.

Under Maisonet's leadership, the Engineers earned 10 seasons with at least 25 victories and posted a program-record 34 wins during the 2024 campaign. Her coaching staff was recognized as the Liberty League Coaching Staff of the Year six times, while numerous student-athletes earned all-conference, regional, national, and academic honors throughout her tenure.

In addition to the program's success on the field, Maisonet fostered a culture centered on academic achievement, leadership, and the overall development of RPI's student-athletes, leaving a lasting impact on the softball program and the Department of Athletics.

RPI Athletics thanks Coach Maisonet for her dedication and contributions to the softball program over the past 15 seasons and wishes her continued success at Eastern Connecticut State University.

A national search for the next head coach of the RPI softball program will begin immediately.
