Men’s Soccer Captures 3-1 Win Over Keene State

TROY, N.Y. — The RPI men's soccer team remained unbeaten to begin the 2026 season with a 3-1 victory over Keene State on Wednesday evening at ECAV Stadium.

The Engineers opened the scoring in the 12th minute when Christopher McKinney found the back of the net to give RPI an early 1-0 advantage. RPI continued to generate opportunities throughout the opening half, with Jax Jameson forcing a save and Diego Peredo adding another attempt as the Engineers looked to extend their lead.

RPI doubled its advantage just before halftime when Justin Woodbine headed home a free kick setup from McKinney to make it 2-0. The Engineers carried the two-goal cushion into the break after limiting Keene State to three shots over the opening 45 minutes.

The Engineers quickly added to their lead after halftime. Joshua Jarden generated a pair of early chances before Harrison Brownlow finished a setup from Jarden and Jameson in the 51st minute, pushing RPI ahead 3-0. The goal was Brownlow's second of the season after also scoring in the Engineers' season-opening victory over Westfield State.

Keene State broke through in the 72nd minute when Lapo Cabianca scored off assists from Jorge Zaura Saez and Pierpaolo Cosmo Galardo, trimming the margin to 3-1. RPI continued to create chances down the stretch, however, as Olivier Szorc forced a save, Woodbine struck the post, and Peredo put another attempt on target before the final whistle.

McKinney finished with a goal and an assist to lead the Engineers offensively, while Woodbine and Brownlow each added a goal. Jarden and Jameson collected assists on Brownlow's tally. Brownlow led RPI with three shots, while McKinney, Jarden, Jameson, Woodbine, Szorc and Peredo recorded two attempts apiece.
