TROY, N.Y. — The RPI women's soccer team continued its unbeaten start to the 2026 season with a commanding 6-1 victory over SUNY Potsdam this afternoon at ECAV Stadium. The Engineers scored five times in the opening half and finished with a 19-2 advantage in shots.
RPI opened the scoring in the 14th minute when
Elsa Ryan found the back of the net to put the Engineers in front 1-0. The hosts quickly took firm control of the contest with two goals just 30 seconds apart later in the half.
Maddy Kaminski finished a setup from
Micaela Ross to double the advantage before
Sophia Byron converted another Ross assist moments later for a 3-0 lead.
The Engineers continued to add to the margin after making a full wave of substitutions.
Ally Buchanan pushed the lead to 4-0 in the 33rd minute, finishing a play set up by
Agapi Kouvlis and
Allison Fleury. RPI then added another tally thanks to an own goal less than five minutes later to carry a 5-0 advantage into halftime.
RPI remained on the attack after the break.
Genevieve Ricci forced an early save before
Ava Davey and
Camila Dominguez each generated opportunities. Dominguez eventually broke through in the 63rd minute, scoring the Engineers' sixth goal of the afternoon. She finished with a team-high four shots, including three on goal.
The Engineers continued creating chances throughout the second half, with
Clara Krumholz among those forcing another save late in the contest. Potsdam broke up the shutout in the closing minutes when Mikayla Jaros scored off a feed from Abigail Bianchi, accounting for the visitors' lone shot on goal.
RPI featured five individual goal scorers in Ryan, Kaminski, Byron, Buchanan and Dominguez, while Ross recorded two assists. Kouvlis and Fleury each added a helper on Buchanan's tally. Dominguez led the Engineers with four shots, while Ricci, Davey and Buchanan each registered two. RPI put 13 of its 19 total attempts on goal and held Potsdam without a shot during the entire first half.
