ALBANY, N.Y. — The RPI women's soccer team played Russell Sage College to a scoreless draw this evening at the ACPHS Complex. The Engineers controlled much of the attacking play, finishing with a 13-7 advantage in shots and an 8-3 edge in shots on goal.
RPI created several early opportunities, with
Ava Davey,
Annabelle Bachhuber,
Keleigh Nihart, and
Allison Fleury each putting attempts on target during the opening half. The Engineers also generated five corner kicks before halftime, but Sage goalkeeper Emma Fogarty kept the contest scoreless.
The Engineers continued to press after the break.
Maddy Kaminski, Bachhuber,
Sophia Byron, and Nihart all forced saves during the second half, but RPI was unable to break through. Bachhuber and Nihart finished with three shots apiece, while Byron added two.
Ava Gaboury and
Hanna Pihu combined for the shutout in goal, with each making a save.
