On attending Rensselaer: “Throughout my education I have always been interested in and focused on STEM subjects. The emphasis at RPI on STEM was appealing to me. Additionally, it was one of the only schools with the specific major I wanted. At other colleges I would have majored in biology, despite having a strong passion for chemistry and math. At RPI I am able to combine all three by majoring in biochemistry and biophysics. During my senior year of high school I attended the Medalist Open House, which was another way RPI stood out to me. I loved how friendly the staff and students were, the size of the campus was perfect for me and I got to have a private tour of the athletic facilities. Field hockey is incredibly important to me, as well as supporting other sports teams. Therefore, being able to play for RPI and being exposed to such a strong school spirit was the cherry on top." - July 2021

Benefits of undergraduate community: “One of the major benefits of being an undergraduate at RPI is having the ability to do research with graduate students and professors. I also believe that Rensselaer's rigorous courses prepare undergraduates well for jobs and/or graduate school. There is a strong network of supportive people along the way to guide you to where you want to be once it is time to graduate. This includes classmates, professors, advisors, teammates and more." - July 2021
