2018-19 Schedule
TROY, N.Y. – The Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) men's hockey team will play 34 games during the 2018-19 season, including 14 at the Houston Field House. Among those are contests against UMass Amherst and UMass Lowell, as well as Connecticut. Also highlighting the schedule are trips to national runners-up Notre Dame and the TD Bank Catamount Cup at the University of Vermont.
RPI opens the season on Sunday, October 7, when it hosts the University of Prince Edward Island in an exhibition game at the Houston Field House. The Engineers then begin regular season play the following weekend, with a home-and-home series with UMass Amherst. Rensselaer is in Amherst on Friday, October 12, before hosting the Minutemen the following evening the home opener. Rensselaer battles another Hockey East foe in UConn at home on October 20.
The Engineers drop the puck on ECAC Hockey at home against area-rival Union College (Oct. 26), before concluding that home-and-home series in Schenectady (Oct. 27).
RPI welcomes North Country-rivals Clarkson and St. Lawrence (Nov. 2-3), with Saturday's contest against the Saints being Military Appreciation Night. RPI embarks on its conference road trip to Quinnipiac and Princeton the following weekend (Nov. 9-10), before it takes a weekend off from competition.
Play resumes with a fourth home-and-home series, this time against UMass Lowell. The Engineers are on the road (Nov. 23) before hosting the River Hawks (Nov. 25) for Faculty-Staff Appreciation Night. RPI will then spend most of the next two months on the road, including its longest trip of the year - a two-game set at Notre Dame (Nov. 30-Dec. 1). The fall semester concludes with an ECAC Hockey series at Yale and Brown (Dec. 7-8).
Rensselaer squares off against its former conference opponent Vermont in the TD Bank Catamount Cup (Dec. 29-30), before a single game road trip to Harvard (Jan. 4), opening the new year. After returning home the next night to host Army (Jan. 5), RPI makes its North Country trip to face St. Lawrence and Clarkson (Jan. 11-12), before dueling UConn in Hartford (Jan. 16) and Union in the seventh playing of the Mayor's Cup at the Times Union Center (Jan. 19).
The Engineers are home to take on Brown and Yale (Jan. 25-26), with the 42nd Annual Big Red Freakout! landing on Saturday against the Bulldogs. The four-game homestand concludes with RPI's first look at both Colgate and Cornell (Feb. 1-2).
A one-game trip to face Dartmouth (Feb. 8) is followed by a home weekend to wrap up the team's season series with Princeton and Quinnipiac (Feb. 15-16), before return visits to Cornell and Colgate (Feb. 22-23). The Engineers then conclude their regular season at home against Harvard and Dartmouth (Mar. 1-2). The Engineers will celebrate Senior Night against the Big Green.

The ECAC Hockey Tournament begin on March 8 and run through March 23 with the semifinals and championship set for Lake Placid.
