TROY, N.Y. – Two school records fell as the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) men's and women's swimming & diving teams split a dual meet against Hamilton College on Saturday at Robison Pool. The Red Hawks men won 123-118 while the Continentals women claimed a 131-110 win.

Senior diver Matthew Culen (Pelham, NY/Pelham Memorial) paced the Rensselaer men to victory, shattering his own school record in the 3-meter event with an NCAA Cut of 308.25 points. His previous record set last season was 295.35. It marks the first time in his career that Culen surpassed the 300-points mark in dual meet competition. He also claimed victory off the 1-meter board in today's meet with 279.80 points.

On the women's side, junior Aimee Catroppa (Scotia, NY/Burnt Hills-Ballston Spa) broke her own school record in the 200-butterfly with a time of 2:11.60. Her previous record, set in 2007, was 2:11.61. Catroppa also won the 500-freestyle in a time of 5:27.15 and helped the 400-medley relay team to a victory with a time of 4:14.97.

Other top performances at Saturday's meet included Hamilton sophomores Chris and Jake DeConinck (Windsor, CT/Loomis Chaffee School). Jake claimed victory in the 50-free with a time of 22.24 while Chris captured the 200-fly in a time of 2:01.43. Both helped the 400-free relay team to victory with a time of 3:17.78.

Rensselaer's Kelsey Manley (Southbury, CT/Sacred Heart) won the 1-meter diving event with a score of 226.85 points while junior Meredith Eger (Littleton, CO/Heritage) was victorious in the 200-free (2:01.69) and the 400-medley relay (4:14.97).

The meet against Hamilton concludes the dual meet season for both squads. RPI's men finished with a 4-3 dual meet record while the women went 3-4 overall.

Next up for both teams is the UNYSCSA Championships, hosted by LeMoyne in Syracuse, N.Y. The women's competition is February 18-21 while the men are in action on February 25-28.
