SCHENECTADY, N.Y. – Led by a sweep of the doubles action and wins in four of six singles, the Rensselaer women's tennis team defeated area-rival Union, 7-2, on Tuesday. The Engineers improve to 3-2 on the season, while the Dutchwomen fall to 0-6 overall.
Rensselaer saw several players have outstanding efforts in the match, including sophomore Brianna Dickie (Action, MA/Acton Regional), who won at both second doubles with partner Meghan Olson (Rochester, NY/Penfield) and was victorious at fourth flight singles. Olson also had a solid effort, winning a hard-fought match at fifth singles.

The Engineers are back in action this weekend, competing at the New York State Championships. The event, which runs from Friday through Sunday, is hosted by Ithaca College. Action begins at 8am each day.
