SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. - The Rensselaer women's tennis team opened its Spring 2010 schedule with a 9-0 defeat at the hands of Skidmore College. Junior
Jessica Sitzer (Rockaway, NJ/Morris Hills) had a strong performance at 3rd singles, but fell, 6-1, 7-6 (9-7) to Thoroughbreds senior Laura Attley (Chatham, NJ/Chatham).
The match marked the coaching debut of RPI head coach, Erica Hollot. Following the contest she said, "It was a tough match for us but good to see where we are at the moment. The team put up a good fight overall so there were definitely a lot of positives despite the loss."
The Engineers are back on the court on March 20 at St. Lawrence (1pm).
