CLERMONT, Fla. - The Rensselaer softball team fell to Penn State-Behrend this morning, 6-0, before being edged by Brandeis, 7-6, in 10 innings. The win for the Judges was their first of the season (1-0), while the Engineers fall to 0-4. Three players recorded multiple hits for RPI in its narrow loss to Brandeis.

Jen Bach (Lansdale, PA/Gwynedd Mercy Academy) threw 4.0 innings of relief, surrendering four earned runs on six hits, with a strikeout and a walk.

Game two on the day saw RPI mount a late comeback, scoring three times in the bottom of the seventh inning to tie the game at 3-3. The two clubs traded a pair of runs in the eighth and single runs in the ninth, before the Judges platted the long tally in the 10th.
