POTSDAM, N.Y. - Freshman
Alissa Peterson (Gaithersburg, MD) scored a game-high six goals to lead the Rensselaer women's lacrosse team over Clarkson University 15-8 in Liberty League action at Hantz Turf Field on Saturday afternoon.
The Engineers (6-5, 3-3 Liberty League) controlled the game from the start, jumping out to a 2-0 lead three minutes in and holding a 5-3 lead at the half. The Golden Knights (6-6, 0-5) staged a rally midway through the second half and cut the visitors lead to 10-8 on sophomore Saryn Campbell's' (West Bolton, VT) goal with 7:26 remaining. Rensselaer, however, put the game away by scoring the final five goals.

Campbell led Clarkson with three goals. Freshman Alyssa Cristaldi (North Syracuse, NY) tallied two goals and two assists to tie the school record for most points in a season. Through 12 games, the talented rookie has 62 points on 41 goals and 21 assists, tying Kimberly Loucks (2009) and Emily Bojarski (2007) for the Knights' single-season points mark.
Loucks also scored twice to add to her school-record for career goals at 136, including 33 this season.
Sophomore Alyssa Dausman (Syracuse, NY) rounded out Clarkson's scorers with one goal.
Rensselaer held the advantage in shots (34-20) and ground balls (21-16).
Senior
Ariana Hood (Severn, MD) made eight saves in the Engineers goal to record the win. Sophomore Hannah Walters (Amherst, NH) posted 13 stops for Clarkson.
