The Thoroughbreds scored the first two goals of the second half as Klaus and Lindsay Stavola scored 26 seconds apart to cut the lead to one at the 21:56 mark.  Rensselaer answered right back with a Fennessey goal just 46 seconds later to make it an 8-6 game.

Stavola cut the lead back to one on her 20th goal of the season at the 18:01 mark. After 12 minutes without a goal, Peterson scored her fourth goal of the game and 20th of the year with 6:01 remaining to make it 9-7.  The Engineers were able to maintain possession for a majority of the remainder of the game to seal the victory.
