COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – RPI scored a goal in each half as the Engineers (3-1) defeated Ursinus (0-3), 2-1, on Sunday afternoon in non-conference men's soccer action.

RPI, who was receiving votes in the national polls, took a 1-0 lead 35:30 as junior forward Liezer Esquenazi scored his goal of the season as he drove right side and beat Ursinus junior goalkeeper Mike Alfieri.

The Engineers would add one more goal at 63:45 as senior midfielder Benjamin Poser scored on an assist from senior forward Bryce Hutchinson.

Ursinus was able to add a goal at 78:54 to cut the deficit to 2-1 as sophomore forward Jean Carlo Cordova scored his first goal of the season on a rebound off of a save by Engineer goalkeeper Alex Penny.

Alfieri finished with six saves as the Bears were outshot 17-3. Penny had two stops for RPI.
