ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. – The Rensselaer women's tennis team captured five of six singles matches on its way to a 7-2 victory at Bard on Thursday evening. Additionally, four different players won in both doubles and singles action as the Engineers improved to 11-3 on the season. The Raptors are now 8-4 on the year.
Seniors Jess Sitzer (Rockaway, NJ/Morris Hills) and Jeanette Carillo (Brooklyn, NY/Fontbonne Hall Academy) both had outstanding efforts on the night, claiming first and fifth singles wins, respectively. Both also powered their way to victory in the doubles. Sitzer and partner Zosia Casterline (Farmington, MI/Farmington) posted an 8-1 win at first doubles, while Carillo and Christina Ciamarra (Woodbury, MN/Newtown) notched an 8-3 win in the third flight.
Additionally, the win at fourth singles by Ciamarra kept her perfect on the season as she improved to 8-0 in her flight.
