Tournament Site
Due to heavy rains on Sunday morning, the game between Rensselaer and St. Lawrence was called. The extended forecast showed widespread rain throughout most of the day, forcing the official end to the 2011 Liberty League Tournament. Clarkson University was declared the winner by virtue of their 2-0 record and earn the conference's automatic qualifying bid into the NCAA Tournament.
Despite light rain this morning, the teams began to play and Rensselaer held a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the second before the umpires declared the rain too severe. After a 30 minute delay, the weather continued to a problem, forcing the cancelation of the game and the conclusion of the tournament.
Rensselaer wrapped up the year with a 24-15 mark, while St. Lawrence finished 19-20. Clarkson, this year's tournament champions, concluded with a 19-17 record, while Skidmore finished 26-13 on the season.
