ITHACA, N.Y. - The Rensselaer women's and men's swimming & diving teams took to the road for the first time this season and both teams suffered defeat, falling at Ithaca. The women were defeated, 199-95, and the men lost, 203-95.

Mairead Lyons led the RPI women by winning two individual events. She captured the 200-fly in 2:14.19 and the 100-free in 56.86. Maggie Cullather was also victorious, winning the 1-meter diving competition with 245.50 points, and the 400-free relay team was the first to touch the wall (3:55.07).

Rensselaer's men had victories from Brian Polo in the 200-breast (2:17.89) and Miguel Hummel in 3-meter diving (248.75).

Both teams are now 1-1 in dual meet competition. They return to the water on Saturday at the WPI Invitational (1pm).
