Members of the Rensselaer men's hockey team took time out of their day to visit Carroll Hill Elementary School on Wednesday. The group, which consisted of freshman
Luke Curadi, junior
Bryce Merriam and seniors
Patrick Cullen and
Justin Smith, started out the morning addressing a general assembly of students. The players talked about the importance of eating right and keeping up good healthy habits.
All four engaged the students, finding out the many of the students were involved in some kind of sports, while nearly the entire auditorium loved broccolli. Following the morning assembly, the players split up into two groups and moved on to different areas to read with several classes. Smith and Cullen engaged several classes in the library with the book, Cornelius P. Mud, Are You Ready for School?, while Curadi and Merriam traveled to different classrooms. Among their books was Hockey for Fun!
