TROY, N.Y. – Junior Marissa Page matched a career-high with five goals and senior goaltender Allie Arnal made 10 saves to lead the 19th-ranked Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) women's lacrosse team to a, 15-4, victory over Vassar College, this afternoon at Renwyck Field. With the win, the Engineers improve to 9-2 overall (5-0 Liberty League), while the Brewers drop to 8-3 (3-3 Liberty League).

Page (Schenectady, NY/Guilderland) netted three of her five tallies in the first half, as the Engineers opened up an 8-1 lead after 30 minutes of play. Senior captain Shannon Maguire (Randolph, NJ/Randolph) also had three first-half goals, giving her 23 on the season.

RPI held a slight 12-11 edge in shots in the opening stanza, but enjoyed a comfortable lead thanks to the play of Arnal (Lakewood, NY/Phillips Exeter Academy) who made eight of her 10 saves in the first half. The Engineers led in draw controls (6-4) and ground balls (8-4) in the period.

Page led RPI out of the gate in the second half, netting two of the Engineers' next four goals for a 12-1 lead with 19:00 left in the game. Vassar senior Elizabeth Annis (Princeton, NJ/Princeton) halted the Rensselaer scoring run when she netter her 17th goal of the year, with 14:25 remaining.

Sophomore Jamie Wakefield (Windsor, CT/Windsor) answered just over two minutes later with her 12th goal of the season, which sparked a three-goal spurt for the Engineers. Junior Rachel Scofield (Albany, NY/South Colonie) followed with one of her two goals and team-best six points on the day, while senior Alissa Peterson (Gaithersburg, MD/Quince Orchard) capped RPI's scoring for the game with her team-leading 29th of the year.

The Brewers scored two late goals to bring the game to its final margin, which included sophomore Dara Davis' (Guilford, CT/Guilford) 32nd goal on the season.

Arnal (9-2), who saw plenty of action in the first half, made two saves in the second as Rensselaer out-shot Vassar 11-7 in frame for a 23-18 overall advantage. Brewers' sophomore netminder Katharine Pula (Washington Township, NJ/Immaculate Heart) made 10 first-half saves, before being replaced by freshman Mallory Tyler (Hollis, NH/Phillips Academy) early in the second.

The Engineers back in action next weekend, when they host RIT and Rochester on Friday (4pm) and Saturday (2pm), respectively. Vassar welcomes Western Connecticut to Poughkeepsie on Tuesday (6pm).
