ROCHESTER, N.Y. - A sweep in the three doubles matches started things off for the Rensselaer women's tennis team, which went on to capture five of the six singles matches for an 8-1 win over Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT). RPI, which is ranked 20th in the region, improves to 12-3 overall, including six consecutive victories. RIT is now 1-6.
The Engineers altered their lineup for doubles, moving
Christina Ciamarra to number one with
Casey Olsen,
Jessica Buckley to number two with
Emily Laurilliard and
Emily Aaldenberg and
Kelsey Ham playing at number three. All six student-athletes also played doubles.
In singles, the top two flights both featured three-set affairs with both teams securing a victory. Olsen won her match 6-3, 1-6, 10-6, while RIT's Marte Vera Antelo defeated Laurilliard,
