RPI Athletics on PinterestGENESEO, N.Y. - Juniors Marylen Santos and Mai Hashimoto teamed for the win at number-one doubles, leading a Geneseo sweep of the doubles that keyed its 7-2 win against Rensselaer on Saturday. The victory gave the Knights an undefeated fall regular season as they finished 7-0, 5-0 in the SUNYAC. The Engineers drop to 1-1 in dual meet competition.
The doubles teams of junior Cat Crummey/senior Amanda Rosati and senior Minxuan Yuan/sophomore Maggie Hale also took their matches, giving Geneseo a 3-0 lead going into singles. In the match last season, Rensselaer swept the doubles competitions in its 5-4 victory.
The Engineers got victories from Emily Laurilliard at second singles, a come-from-behind three-set battle, 1-6, 7-6 (5), 11-9, and sophomore Pooja Ganesh, who won at fourth singles, 6-2, 6-3.
RPI is right back on the court on Sunday as they travel to Union College for a Liberty League contest that begins at 1pm.Geneseo 7, Rensselaer 2
