POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. -- Shanny Lin set a new school record in the 200 butterfly, while David Gardiner recorded his first win as an RPI swimmer, as Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) defeated Vassar on both the men's and women's sides in swimming and diving action on Saturday afternoon at Kresge Pool. The Engineer women posted a 187.5-103.5 win over the Brewers, while the men won with a score of 173-87.

Lin, who finished with an NCAA B-Cut time of 2:05.29, bested her time in the 200 fly that she recorded at RIT earlier this season. Lin was also a member of the victorious 400-yard medley relay team that touched first in 4:09.08, and won the 100-yard fly in 59.66 seconds. 

Danielle Sauve won the 1,000-yard freestyle (10:52.65) and the 200-yard backstroke (2:16.21), while Jessica Sauve was victorious in the 500 free (5:24.57), and was also a member of the 400 medley relay team. Michaela Yamashita was also a double winner, touching first in the 100 back (1:02.85) and the 100 free (57.57). 

In women's diving, Maggie Cullather and Maddie Miller both made cuts for NCAA Regionals. Cullather won the 1-meter event with a score of 258.66, while Miller was second with a score of 245.10. Miller was victorious in the 3-meter event with a score of 272.55, while Cullather was third (242.70). 

On the men's side, Gardiner won the 100 back in 55.36 for his first win as an Engineer. RPI's Colin Lenhoff was a double winner, touching first in the 500 free (5:06.18) and the 200 free (1:52.17). The Engineers also had several single winners, including Samuel Mayo in the 1,000 free (10:40.52), Andrew Klobucher in the 100 free (48.92), and Adam Kalish in the 50 free (22.19). Lenhoff was also on the victorious 400 medley relay team, along with Klobucher, Brian Polo, and Matt Schlehr, which one in a time of 3:40.82.

In men's diving, Miguel Hummel met NCAA Regional cut standards, as he won the 3-meter competition with a score of 268.57 and the 1-meter event in 275.17. 

The Engineers will be back in action on Sunday, hosting Hartwick at Robison Pool at 1 p.m.
