Women's Tennis Downs Ducks to Improve to 6-0

ORLANDO, Fla. - Junior Casey Olsen posted victories against regionally-ranked opponents at No. 1 singles and No. 1 doubles to lead the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) women's tennis team to a 7-2 win over Stevens Institute of Technology. With the victory the Engineers improve to 6-0 on the season. The Ducks fall to 8-5.

Olsen (Glen Ridge, NJ / Glen Ridge) and sophomore Emily Laurilliard (Niskayuna, NY / Niskayuna) defeated Jessica Bourque and Lisa Tessitore, the ninth-ranked doubles team in their region and All-Americans last season, 9-8 (8). Olsen then defeated Bourque, who is ranked 11th, in three sets, 7-5, 1-6, 11-9.

As a team, RPI won two of the three doubles matches and five of six singles for its third win this spring.

The Engineers, who are ranked 15th in the region, play Radford University on Wednesday at 3pm.
