RPI Athletics on TwitterGENEVA, N.Y. - Down 4-1 after the first five matches, the Rensselaer women's tennis team won each of the last four singles matches and edged William Smith 5-4 in a match played today on the outdoor courts at the HWS Tennis Center. The Engineers, who are ranked 16th in the region, improve to 8-4, while the 17th-ranked Herons drop to 10-3.
Amanda Alexander had two wins for Rensselaer, taking No. 3 doubles and No. 5 singles.
William Smith came out of doubles play up 2-1. The Herons earned wins at Nos. 1 and 3 in singles, but RPI secured the victory with wins at Nos. 2,4,5, and 6.
