Melanie Frank posted a 6-1, 6-2 victory at No. 4 singles, but that was the only victory for the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) women's tennis team, which lost to SUNY Geneseo 8-1 at Sharp Courts. The Engineers drop to 2-2 in dual matches, while the Knights improve to 8-0.
RPI dropped the three doubles matches before seeing Frank earn a win in singles. Her point was the first allowed by Geneseo in its first eight matches. Junior
Pooja Ganesh nearly earned another for the home team, but she fell in three sets 1-6, 6-3, 10-7.
Rensselaer returns to the court on Friday against the University of Hartford. That home match begins at 4pm.
