ENGINEERS SPLIT AT CORTLAND: Rensselaer took one of two games in a doubleheader at Cortland on Saturday, winning game one, 6-3, before falling, 9-1, in game two ... Senior Jocilyn Rudisill opened the scoring with an RBI-single in the top of the second and RPI took advantage of a Red Dragons throwing error to take a 2-0 lead ... After Cortland pulled one run back in the third, the Engineers broke out the bats in the top of the fourth, plating four runs ... Sophomore Stephanie Caudle and senior Jena Servidone provided the two biggest hits in the frame as each knocked in two with singles through the infield ... Senior Kristina Weltzin was solid from the circle, allowing three runs (2 earned) on six hits in 7.0 innings ... She struck out six and walked three ... In game two, Caudle got RPI on the board first with a home run, but that was all the offense the Engineers could muster off of Cortland's Jamie Lachall ... The Red Dragons scored two in the fourth, three in the fifth and four in the sixth for the mercy-rule victory ... Diane Cork went 2 for 2 with a home run and two runs scored, while Niki Barbato was 2 for 3 with a home run, two runs and three RBI.

Junior Taylor Ten Eyck rounds out the top three hitters at .306 (26 for 85) with four doubles, two home runs, 11 runs and a team-best 15 RBI ... Her twin sister Morgan Ten Eyck is batting .284 (21 for 74) with six doubles, two homers, 11 runs and 10 RBI.

She has surrendered 41 runs (30 earned) on 55 hits in 85.1 innings ... Opponents are batting .177 off of her ... Sophomore Stephanie Caudle is 6-5 with a 1.94 ERA in 14 appearances (8 starts) ... PACING THE SAINTS: Senior Aisha O'Connor is batting a team-high .375 (24 for 64) with four doubles, 12 runs scored and seven runs batted in ... Senior Brady Cooper is third with a .317 (19 for 60) average, collecting six runs and two RBI ... From circle, junior Kyle Plimpton is 10-7 with a 2.30 earned run average in 19 appearances (16 starts) ... She has allowed 34 runs (27 earned) on 98 hits in 103.1 innings ... Her 122 strikeouts are the most in the Liberty League and she also tops the conference in wins.

LAST YEAR VS. SLU: Rensselaer won a pair of tightly contested games with the Saints on April 13, 2014 ... The Engineers used a late rally to turn a 1-1 game into a 6-1 win in game one, before topping the Saints, 5-3, in 8 innings of game two ... Tori Hunt went 3 for 4 with three runs scored and Kristina Weltzin went the distance for the game one victory ... She struck out seven and did not allow an earned run ... RPI was forced to come back from an early 2-0 deficit in game two, as Carly Dziekan singled home two SLU runs in the second ... Single RPI runs in the fifth and sixth tied the game, before the Engineers put up a three-spot in the top of the eighth ... Jena Servidone, Tayor Ten Eyck and Jocilyn Rudisill all delivered run-scoring hits in the frame.

PITCHERS OF THE WEEK: Sunday doubleheader features two pitchers who have won Liberty League Pitcher of the Week this season ... RPI senior Kristina Weltzin has earned the award twice (3/16 and 4/6), while SLU junior Kyle Plimpton has won it once (3/23).

WELTZIN BREAKS SCHOOL WINS RECORD: With her win on April 11 – the 59th of her collegiate career – Kristina Weltzin is now the school's all-time wins leader, passing Larina Suker '00 ... Weltzin also owns a number of other school records, including appearances (109) and innings (573.1) ... She is 17 strikeouts shy of Suker's career mark of 509.
