Like RPI Athletics on FacebookTROY, N.Y. - The Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) women's tennis team dropped only one game in defeating Bard College, 5-1, in a Liberty League contest at Sharp Courts. The Engineers improved to 8-8 overall and 4-3 in the Liberty League with the win in this match, whic was played to decision. The Raptors fell to 0-14.
Rensselaer won all three doubles matches to open a 3-0 lead with the No. 1 and No. 3 teams of
Emily Laurilliard &
Melanie Frank and
Pooja Ganesh &
Emily Aaldenberg winning by 8-0 scores. Aaldenberg then posted a 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 5 singles and
Casey Olsen won by the same score at No. 1 to end the match. Bard's lone victory came by default at No. 6 singles.
RPI concludes the regular season with a non-league match against Wheaton College (MA) on Saturday at noon on Sharp Courts. The Raptors host William Smith College in a league contest on Saturday at 2pm.
