SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. - The Skidmore College women's tennis team defeated Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) 9-0 for its 35th consecutive Liberty League win, under the lights Friday night at Wenger Courts.
 
The Thoroughbreds (1-0) swept doubles to take a 3-0 lead going into singles. RPI falls to 1-1 with both matches being against league opponents.
 
Junior Pooja Ganesh battled at number six singles before falling in the third set 4-6, 6-0, 10-7. Danielle Gianetti beat Maria Salmon at number one singles 6-1, 6-2 and had an 8-3 win at number three doubles with Brianna Greene. Greene beat Andrea Valencia 6-1, 6-0 at number three singles.
 
The Engineers are right back  in action on Saturday, traveling to SUNY New Paltz for a 1pm contest. Skidmore travels to Union College on Saturday at 1pm.
