TROY, N.Y. – Miranda Davenport scored two goals in the final 15 minutes to lead the 11th-ranked Skidmore College field hockey team to a 3-2 win over Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI), on Saturday morning at Harkness Field. With the win, the Thoroughbreds improve to 10-3 overall (2-0 Liberty League), while the Engineers drop to 5-5 (0-3 Liberty League).
Trailing 2-1, Davenport brought the visitors even at 56:28, finishing a penalty corner feed from Meaghan Lynch.
Davenport then scored the eventual game-winning goal at 62:57, beating RPI sophomore goaltender

Skidmore was able to hold on for the win, limiting the Engineers to just one shot over the final seven minutes.
RPI got the scoring started just 1:39 into the game, when sophomore
Mikaela DiBello buried her fifth goal of the season.
Lynch brought Skidmore even at 6:33, with Becca Halter picking up the assist.
The game remained tied at the half, with each team registering nine shots, although the Thoroughbreds had a 6-2 edge in shots on goal.
Taylor Clink gave Rensselaer the lead at 53:19, taking a pass from DiBello and rifling home her fourth goal of the season to make it 2-1.
DiBello finished with a goal, an assist and a team-high four shots. Davenport notched a game-best six shots. Kaufman (5-4) had six saves, while Elizabeth Coughlin (10-2) had four stops at the other end of the field.
The Engineers are back in action tomorrow afternoon, when they visit Keuka (1pm). Skidmore visits St. Lawrence on Wednesday (4pm).
