Engineers welcome Panthers to Renwyck Field for home opener

2016 HOME OPENER: Rensselaer opens its home schedule on Tuesday afternoon, when it hosts fourth-ranked Middlebury at Renwyck Field ... The first draw is scheduled for 4:30pm.

ENGINEERS EDGE ONEONTA: In a game full of big scoring runs, RPI was able to outlast the Red Dragons, 12-11, in the season opener for both schools, last Thursday ... Senior Mackenzie O'Neil led all scorers with six points on a career-high five goals and one assist ... Junior Sophie Hager chipped in with two goals and an assist, while freshman Michelle Bolger notched the first two tallies of her collegiate career ... Freshman Aleena Milinski (1-0) picked up the victory in net, playing the final 10:21 of the game ... She had made two saves on four shots.

RENSSELAER LEADERS: Senior Mackenzie O'Neil (5 goals, 1 assist) leads the Engineers with six points ... She is followed by Junior Sophie Hager (2 goals, 1 assist) and freshman Michelle Bolger (2 goals) with three and two points, respectively ... PANTHERS LEADERS: Junior Mary O'Connell (1 goal, 6 assists) leads the team with seven points ... Senior Laurel Pascal (6 goals) has six points, while three players have two points, including sophomore Hollis Perticone (2 goals).
