RPI Athletics on FacebookWELLESLEY, Mass. - The Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) women's tennis team battled No. 28 Babson College in the Nor'Easter Bowl, but the Engineers dropped a 7-2 decision to the Beavers. RPI drops to 4-6 and Babson improves to 12-5.
The Beavers took a 1-0 lead after winning at No. 1 doubles, but the team of
Nisha Rajamohan and
Pooja Ganesh pulled the Engineers even with a 9-7 win. Babson won the second doubles and then each of the first two singles matches (No. 1, No. 5) for a 4-1 lead before Rajamohan, a freshman, posted a 6-3, 6-2 win at No. 6.
Babson clinched the match at No. 3 singles as No. 2 and No. 4 went to three sets. RPI fell in both of those singles matches.
