ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. - The Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) women's tennis team lost just eight games over nine matches in defeating Bard College in a Liberty League contest. The Engineers improve to 3-1 in dual matches, while the Raptors fall to 2-4.
RPI got off to a 3-0 win with a sweep of doubles by scores of 8-1 (No. 1), 8-0 (No. 2) and 8-0 (No. 3). Singles went much the same way with RPI winning by a combined 60-1 in seeds No. 2 to No. 6. The closest match of the day was at No. 1 singles with Rensselaer's
Mailani Neal holding off Katie Esposito, 7-5, 6-1.
