LGR! Tournament

LATHAM, N.Y. - The Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) women's tennis team held a 2-1 lead after doubles, but the Engineers could not capitalize in singles and lost to the University of Rochester, 7-2, in a non-league match at Tri-City Fitness. RPI falls to 2-3, while the Yellowjackets improve to 1-1.

Rensselaer's top doubles team of Allie Kallish and Erica Frommer tied the match at 1-1 with an 8-6 victory and the No. 2 tandem of Tess Lubin and Andrea Valencia put the Engineers in front, 2-1. U of R took control in singles, however, winning each of the six matches in straight sets. Frommer, playing No. 2, had the closest match, but lost 7-5, 6-3.

Rensselaer returns to the court next Sunday when it travels to St. Lawrence University for a Liberty League contest (10am).
