EWING TOWNSHIP, N.J. - The Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) women's tennis team returned to the court for the first time in two weeks and the Engineers saw their four-match winning streak halted by No. 32 The College of New Jersey (TCNJ), 9-0. Rensselaer, which was playing its first road match since March 5, falls to 6-6. The Lions improve to 14-3.
TCNJ opened with three wins in doubles, though the No. 1 pairing of juniors Maddy Stoner and Danna Tsay were taken to a tiebreak by RPI's team of
Tess Lubin and
Nisha Rajamohan, 8-7 (2). Each of the six singles matches were decided in straight sets.
Rensselaer has two regular season matches remaining: Saturday at William Smith College (11am) and Sunday at home against Union College (TBD). Both are Liberty League contests. The Engineers need to win both to have a chance to qualify for the conference's post-season tournament.
