LGR! Golf Tournament (May 8)

LATHAM, N.Y. - The Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) women's tennis team increased its winning streak to four matches with a pair of victories on Sunday, defeating Rochester Institute of Technology, 8-1, and Bard College, 9-0. The Engineers, who swept the doubles matches in both contests, improve to 6-5 overall and 2-3 in the Liberty League.

Among the standouts for the Engineers was sophomore Andrea Valencia, who won both her matches while playing No. 2 singles. She defeated her opponent from RIT, 6-0, 6-1, and her opponent from Bard, 6-0, 6-0.

Rensselaer's No. 1 doubles team, Tess Lubin and Nisha Rajamohan went 2-0 in what was the team's first action since March 17. They defeated their competitors from RIT 8-5 before downing their opponents from Bard, 8-2.

And, Jenny Lee, a freshman, posted a 4-0 record while playing No. 6 singles and No. 3 doubles. Against the Tigers, she and Angelika Rothberg won her doubles match 9-8 (2) and then won at No. 6 singles, 9-8 (6). In the win over the Raptors, Lee captured No. 3 doubles, 8-2, and then won at No. 6 singles without dropping a game, 6-0, 6-0.
