SARATOGA SPRINGS, NY – The Engineers saw 13 different swimmers win individual events in their 189-92 win at Skidmore on Saturday afternoon.
In the freestyle events,
Spencer Marquardt (50 free, 22.62),
Mark Mulder (48.88),
Sam Lippman (500 free, 5:07.00) and
Trevor Maxfield (1000 free, 10:10.89) took first place for RPI. The duo of
Graham Zola (100 fly, 53.69) and
Max Blanch (200 fly, 2:03.65) swept the butterfly events.
John Alberta (100 back) and
Timothy Ho (200 back) won the backstroke events in 55.40 and 2:01.83, respectively.
Charly Blazy took the 100 breaststroke in 1:01.11 with
Chris Li winning the 200 breaststroke in 2:18.35.
On the diving boards, Rennselaer's
Alex Chused won the one meter dive with a score of 246.38 while
Matthew Dineen took the three meter dive with a final score of 235.73.
Rounding out the individual winners was
Eric Xu with his 4:25.17 finish in the 400 IM.
The RPI men took one of the two relay events with the team of Zola,
Nicos Prokopiou,
Cory Madalena and
Noah Pan taking the race in 1:39.72.
The Engineers return to the pool next Saturday for a dual meet with Hamilton on the road. Events are set to begin at 1pm.
