FINAL ROAD GAME: The No. 16/17 Engineers (6-0; 2-0 Liberty League) take to the road for the fourth and final time in the regular season on Saturday ... RPI faces Rochester (1-6; 0-3 Liberty League) in a conference contest at Edwin Fauver Stadium.

NATIONALLY-RANKED: RPI is ranked 16th in Division III, according to the latest American Football Coaches Association Poll ... It is the highest the Engineers have been on that list since being 16th on October 23, 2007.

D3FOOTBALL.COM POLL: The Engineers are 17th in the latest D3football.com Top 25 ... Prior to this season, RPI was last inside the top 20 in 2004 when it was listed 17th after Week 2.

ELEVEN STRAIGHT: Dating back to last year, Rensselaer has won each of its last 11 regular season games ... The Engineers are 11-1 in their last 12 with a loss at Wesley (45-27) in the 2017 NCAA Playoffs.

STANDINGS: RPI sits in first place in the conference with a 2-0 record ... Both Ithaca and Hobart are in second at 2-1, with their losses are to the Engineers ... St. Lawrence is in fourth at 1-1, followed by Union (1-2) and Rochester (0-3).

COMMON OPPONENTS: Rensselaer and U of R have both played Hobart and Ithaca this season ... RPI is 2-0 against those foes (31-24 & 10-9), while the Yellowjackets are 0-2 (52-7 & 28-3).

ALL-TIME VS. ROCHESTER: RPI has faced Rochester on 76 occasions, trailing 31-41-4 (.434) in the series, which dates back to October 13, 1906 ... RPI was shut out in four of the first five games - and 11 of the first 24 - including a 0-0 tie in the series opener, which was played in Rochester.

STREAKS: The Yellowjackets won 12 straight games from 1954 to 1965 and were 14-1 from 1951 to 1965 ... The U of R was 16-2 against Rensselaer from 1951 to 1987, but things changed in the 1990s ... From 1993 to 2005, Rensselaer posted a 10-1 record with two five-game winning streaks.

MOST RECENTLY: The Engineers are 7-3 in their last 10 games with Rochester, including wins in three in a row and six of the last eight meetings.

ALL-TIME ON THE ROAD: RPI is 15-24-1 (.388) all-time at Rochester, including 7-3 in the last 10 games at Fauver Stadium ... The Engineers won 51-13 in 2016, which is the most recent visit to Rochester.

LAST MEETING IN ROCHESTER: Rensselaer scored five touchdowns offensively and one defensively in a 51-13 victory over Rochester at Edwin Fauver Stadium ... The Engineers also got three field goals (30, 30, 23 yards) and six PATs from Christian Kapp ... A touchdown pass from Ed Trimpert to John Costello to end the first half may well have been the key play of the entire game ... Rochester climbed to within 13-6 on a touchdown with 35 seconds left in the second quarter ... The Engineers worked the ball to the home 34 yard line with seven seconds left before Trimpert found Costello crossing in the end zone and hit him with the pass as the horn sounded for a 20-6 lead ... RPI finished with 519 yards of total offense (456 rushing), which is third in school history for a single game, led by Mike Tivinis (124 yards, 2 TDs), Nick Cella (111 yards, 1 TD) and Ethan Wells (99 yards). 

LEAGUE PLAY: Rensselaer is 16-6 in Liberty League action with the Yellowjackets.

IN THE RECORD BOOK: RPI's 76 games against Rochester are the third most against any one opponent ... Rensselaer's 31 wins is tied for second (Hobart & Union) and its 41 losses rank third ... The Engineers have shut out the Yellowjackets 10 times, which is third most among all opponents.

LAST SEASON: RPI scored 21 points in each of the first two quarters to build a 42-0 halftime lead and the Engineers went on to a 63-14 victory over Rochester ... RPI got on the scoreboard on its first play from scrimmage when freshman quarterback George Marinopoulos found junior slot receiver Connor Davies in the right flat and watched Davies run down the right sideline, breaking several tackles, for an 87-yard touchdown ... Turnovers on Rochester's next four possessions helped the Engineers build its commanding lead.

ALL-PURPOSE: Conor Davies accounted for 171 total yards, including 32 rushing and 87 receiving, against Rochester ... After scoring on an 87-yard reception, he later ran the offense from the quarterback position, picking up 32 rushing yards on six attempts while leading the Engineers to a touchdown ... He also had 25 kick return yards and 27 punt return yards.

ON OFFENSE: RPI finished with 470 yards of total offense against Rochester, including 210 on the ground ... Senior Ethan Wells had 99 yards on just six carries, including a 52-yard long, while Mike Tivinis finished with 62 yards (8 att.) and two scores ... George Marinopoulos was 9 for 11 for 198 yards with four touchdowns and senior Luke Moran was 2 for 3 for 62 yards ... Nick Cella scored on a pair of third quarter touchdowns.

ON DEFENSE: RPI saw 35 different players make at least one tackle against Rochester ... Senior Brandt Beck had eight stops, including two sacks for 19 yards, and a pass breakup.

SCHOOL RECORD: An 87-yard completion between George Marinopoulos and Connor Davies last week against Rochester is the longest in school history ... RPI's previous mark of 85 yards was done twice previously, most recently in 1992.

MARK TIED: Senior Christian Kapp kicked nine point-after-touchdowns against the Yellowjackets, tying the school record ... Eric Byrne set the standard in 1998.

RPI LAST WEEK: Four student-athletes scored touchdowns and the Engineers built a 24-3 second half lead on its way to defeating Hobart, 31-24 ... Rensselaer finished with 154 rushing yards, including 80 and a touchdown from Nick Cella on 20 attempts, and 256 passing yards for 410 total ... George Marinopoulos was 12 of 20 for 210 yards and two touchdowns with Keaton Ackermann securing four receptions, including a TD catch, for 74 yards ... Conor Davies caught three balls for 63 yards, while also rushing for 69 yards and a touchdown and picking up 66 return yards (59 on kickoffs) ... Juniors Andres Guisasola and John Sadak both had 12 tackles in the win with Guisasola collecting eight unassisted and one for a loss of one yard ... He also had a pass breakup.

RECOGNIZED: The Liberty League weekly football awards included RPI sophomore kicker Sanjay Krishnan, who was selected as the Special Teams Performer of the Week ... He made his only field goal attempt (20 yards) and was successful on each of his four point-after-touchdown tries ... While kicking off, Krishnan averaged 57.3 yards on six attempts (344 total yards) with a touchback.

HOME WINNING STREAK: RPI has won now eight straight games at East Campus Stadium ... The Engineers were 4-0 last season with the most recent defeat coming on October 22, 2016, to WPI (19-7).

SCHOOL RECORD: Rensselaer's record for home winning streak is 10 games, which it accomplished from October 30, 1993 to October 7, 1995.

UNBEATEN IN NON-LEAGUE: Rensselaer was 4-0 against non-conference opponents, marking the first time since 2013 it had done so ... The Engineers were 3-0 that season.

STATISTICAL LEADERS: Rensselaer is first in the league in four team categories, including rushing offense (155.8 yards per game), kickoff returns (24.5 yards per), punt returns (16.4 yards per) and interceptions (15).

INDIVIDUAL LEADERS: RPI senior Conor Davies is first in the Liberty League in all-purpose yards per game (133.2), which includes rushing, receiving and returns ... Sophomore Zac Montrief leads all punters with a 38.5 yard average and classmate Sanjay Krishnan is first in field goals per game (1.3).

SECOND SEAT: Senior running back Nick Cella is second in the conference in rushing yards per game with 65.2.

BALL HAWKS: With its two interceptions against Hobart, the Engineers now have 15 INTs, which is tied with three other schools for the second most in Division III ... Seven different players have at least one interception ... RPI has returned three of those picks for touchdowns.

TURNOVER MARGIN: Rensselaer is tied with two other schools for seventh in the nation in turnover margin (1.50 per game) ... Berry leads Division III at 2.38 per game.
