PURCHASE, N.Y. - The Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) women's tennis team came off a 17-day break from matches and defeated Manhattanville College, 9-0, in a non-league contest. The Engineers lost just four games from No. 2-6 singles and all three doubles combined to improve to 1-1 in dual matches. The Valiants drop to 1-1.
After sweeping the doubles with identical 8-0 scores, Rensselaer won each of the first five singles matches while yielding just four games. Senior

Elise White (No. 5) and
Elly Klages (No. 6) all won their matches at 6-0, 6-0.
The most competitive of the day's nine matches came at No. 1 singles with RPI junior
Tess Lubin prevailing, 6-1, 5-7, 1-0 (3), which gave Rensselaer the sweep.
The Engineers are right back in action on Sunday when they play at Western Connecticut State beginning at 11am. It is the team's final match of the fall semester.
