Tess Lubin,
Nisha Rajamohan and
Mailani Neal each won in doubles and singles and the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) women's tennis team defeated Western Connecticut State, 8-1, in a non-league match. RPI concludes the fall with a 2-1 dual match record, while the Colonials drop to 1-11.
Lubin, a junior, joined Neal, a senior at No. 3 doubles and they put the Engineers in front, 2-0, with an 8-2 win. Rajamohan, also a senior, played No. 2 with classmate
Andrea Valencia and they combined to win, 8-0.
Rajamohan was the first to win her singles match, capturing No. 3 with a 6-1, 6-0 score, which increased the team's lead to 3-1. Neal later won at No. 4, 6-2, 6-1, and Lubin was victorious at No. 1, 6-0, 6-2.
