TROY, N.Y. - Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) student-athlete Andrea Squeri has been selected as the Liberty League Women's Cross Country Performer of the Week after she and her teammates competed in the NCAA Championship Meet in Wisconsin.

A senior, Squeri (Downingtown, PA / Downingtown STEM Academy) ran the 6K course in 22:09.5 to lead Rensselaer to a 16th place finish (428 points) at Nationals, which was held in Winnecone, Wis. She finished 51st overall in the 279-competitor event and was less than a second from a top-50 spot (22:09.3). The chemical engineering major, who ran at a 5:56.4 per mile pace, was just one second from 49th (22:08.5).

As a team, the Engineers were 16th in the field of 32 with 428 points.

In the five races in which Squeri competed this season, Rensselaer had three top 3 finishes, including second at the NCAA Atlantic Regional Championship Meet. At that event, in which there were 305 competitors from 44 schools, Squeri was eighth overall, first on the team and second among those from Liberty League programs. The All-Region honoree then went on to be the first from the conference to cross the finish line at the NCAA Championship Meet on Saturday.
