ROCHESTER, N.Y. - The Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) women's tennis team opened the 2018 portion of its schedule with a win in doubles and a win in singles, but the Engineers fell at RIT, 7-2, in a Liberty League contest. Both teams are now 3-2 this season.
RPI's doubles team of
Nisha Rajamohan and
Andrea Valencia won at No. 3 to pull the Engineers to within one point, 2-1, but the Tigers won the first two singles matches for a 4-1 edge. Sophomore
Tess Lubin got a point back with a win at No. 2 singles, 6-3, 1-6, 6-3, but Rensselaer could get no closer.
The Engineers are now idle until March 12 when they face Agnes Scott College in Florida.
