CLINTON, N.Y. – Rensselaer men's swimming saw eight individual winners in their 226-71 victory over Hamilton Saturday afternoon.
John Alberta paced the Engineers with two first place finishes in the 200 freestyle (1:46.81) and 100 free (47.80). The junior's time in the 100 free marked a season PR for Alberta.
Also garnering two first place finishes was junior
Noah Pan in the backstroke events with 54.29 (100 back) and 1:58.59 (200 back) times.
Timothy Ho hit a career best his first place finish in the 100 butterfly with a time of 53.80. The freshman also took first in the 50 free with a time of 22.03.
Sweeping the diving events was
Alex Chused. The junior hit a season-best 269.33 in the three meter dive and a 267.98 in the one meter.
Sophomore
Cory Madalena took home his first individual first place victory of his career with a 1:00.24 in the 100 breaststroke.
Also garnering a season-best was sophomore
Joseph Conway with a 2:01.98 in the 200 fly.
Rounding out individual winners for RPI were freshman
Mark Mulder in the 200 IM (1:58.38) and sophomore
Trevor Maxfield in the 500 freestyle (4:51.27).
The Engineers swept the relay events with the team of Ho, Alberta, sophomore
Graham Zola and senior
Spencer Marquardt taking the 200 free relay (1:27.78) while Pan, Mulder, Zola and Alberta finished first in the 200 medley relay (1:38.39).
RPI returns to Robison Pool for its final meet of the year on Feb. 10 for the RPI Invitational.
