Engineers take on Herons Friday at Renwyck Field (4pm)

LIBERTY LEAGUE PLAY BEGINS
Rensselaer defeated Clarkson on Saturday, 10-8, to open Liberty League play and is set to host a pair of conference games this weekend, beginning on Friday against No. 17 William Smith (4pm). The Engineers then welcome Rochester to Renwyck Field on Saturday (2pm).

ENGINEERS EDGE CLARKSON
RPI rebounded from a three-goal deficit in the first half to defeat the Golden Knights, 10-8, last Saturday in Potsdam. The Engineers received four goals and an assist from senior Abbey Salvon, while classmate and goaltender Aleena Milinski had 16 saves, including six free-position stops.

ALL-TIME VS. WILLIAM SMITH
The Herons own a 21-5 record in the all-time series, which dates back to March 30, 1996 – a 17-5 William Smith win in Troy. The first 15 contests went to the Herons, with RPI's first win in the series coming on April 3, 2010 – a 9-8 victory at Renwyck Field.

RECENTLY
William Smith has six of the last seven meetings, including five straight. The Herons ended RPI's 2018 campaign with a 14-7 win in the Liberty League Semifinals on May 5.

2018 VS. WILLIAM SMITH
The Herons won both meetings last year by scores of 7-2 and 14-7, with both contests taking place in Geneva. Ali Burns netted a pair of goals and Jules Kennedy made six saves in the low scoring regular season contest, before Kelsey Williams and Anna Murphy each netted four goals to take the playoff game. Abbey Salvon and Lauren Guiry potted two goals apiece in the most recent matchup.

Senior Abbey Salvon (10 goals, 4 assists) and junior Liz Brady (3 goals, 11 assists) are tied for th team lead with 14 points apiece. Seniors Michelle Bolger (9 goals) and Lauren Guiry (7 goals, 1 assist) have nine and eight points, respectively.

IN NET
Senior Aleena Milinski has started all four games for the Engineers this season, going 4-0 with an 8.46 goals against average and a .610 save percentage. Junior Maya Manchester stopped all five shots she faced in 13:06 minutes this year.

FOR WILLIAM SMITH
The Herons are led by Ellie Burns, who has 19 goals and one assist for 20 points. Nicki Santora (7 goals, 5 assists) has 12 points, while three others have 11, including Payton McMahon (7 goals, 4 assists).

HERONS GOALTENDING
Jules Kennedy and Olivia Hofmann have split time in the cage for William Smith. Kennedy is 2-2 with an 8.86 goals against average and a .440 save percentage, while Hofmann is 2-0 with an 8.45 goals against average and a .429 save percentage.
