Engineers battle Rochester at Renwyck Field

HOME WEEKEND CONCLUDES
Rensselaer finishes off its home league weekend on Saturday afternoon against the University of Rochester. Opening draw at Renwyck Field is scheduled for 2pm.

RPI FALLS TO NO.17 WILLIAM SMITH
The Herons used a pair of five-goal scoring runs to pull away from Rensselaer, 17-7, on Friday afternoon. After the Engineers opened the game with tallies from Michelle Bolger and Abbey Salvon, William Smith went on an 8-1 run over the next 17 minutes. RPI then clawed back to within 8-6 early in the second half, before the Herons closed out he contest by scoring nine of 10 goals.

ALL-TIME VS. ROCHESTER
RPI leads the all-time series, 13-11, dating back to the first ever meeting on March 27, 1995 – a 13-5 Engineers win in Troy. Rensselaer won the first four matchups, before Rochester ran off victories on 10 of the next 11. 

RECENTLY
Following RPI's 9-7 win in Rochester last season, the Engineers are 8-1 in the last nine meetings.

2018 VS. THE YELLOWJACKETS
Allie Claroni recorded two goals and two assists to lead the Engineers to a 9-7 win on March 24, 2018 in Rochester. Aleena Milinski chipped in with eight saves, while Morgan Doyle had three tallies for the visitors. Maggie McKenna netted three for the Yellowjackets.

RPI LEADERS
Senior Abbey Salvon (12 goals, 5 assists) and junior Liz Brady (3 goals, 11 assists) pace the Engineers with 17 and 14 points, respectively. Seniors Michelle Bolger (12 goals) has 12 points, while Lauren Guiry (8 goals, 2 assist) has 10.
