ITHACA, N.Y. - The Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) men's tennis team won for the fourth straight time, defeating Ithaca College 7-2 to conclude the regular season with an overall record of 9-6. The Engineers are 7-1 and in second place in the Liberty League.
On Saturday at the Athletics & Events Center's Glazer Arena,
Sebastian Castillo-Sanchez,
Andrew Imrie and
Dylan Payne all had two victories. Castillo-Sanchez and Imrie won at No. 1 doubles before capturing No. 1 and No. 3 singles, respectively. Payne joined with
Zack Ebenfeld for a win at No. 2 doubles before winning at No. 6 singles.Â
Five of the six singles matches were completed in straight sets with the lone exception being at No. 4, which featured a three-set win by the Bombers Colten Lavery over
Brian Niguidula, 2-6, 6-4, 10-7.
